(Frequently Asked Questions)
Is my piece worth restoring?
Yes, if it is part of a set, part of your family heritage,
fits and looks good in your home, it is truly an antique (100 years),
or if it is a piece of good quality furniture. In most cases, restoration
will never exceed value. At The Restoration Society, we compete work that
a client wants us to do, regardless of the age or value.
Will restoring my piece
of furniture hurt the value?
Many TV shows have discussed restoration and how it can
affect the value of antiques. Each item has to be evaluated separately
and restored or conserved in a manner that is reversible.
Conservation may be most appropriate on "investment-grade"
antiques. Whereas, on a different item, a complete restoration may
be appropriate. Rest assured The Restoration Society has more than 40 years experience carefully performing the work that
increases or preserves the value of your items.

do the right color or finish.
Does The Restoration Society repair
